Float # 6

I decided to take a pad and pen with me to my 6th float! Which was a standard 90 minutes. Here is what was written in ink directly after I got out. It is very profound but it is untamed.

Everything is beautiful, everything can be achieved. Nothing is impossible. I have now experienced absolutely nothing in the depths of infinite knowledge. Turning focus inside instead of outside peels away the layers of confusion.

I have finally met my true self, the one who is infinite in the cosmos. If only we could learn to turn our focus inside, we would see infinite beauty and infinite compassion. The ego creates misery and craving but your true-self is free and immersed in true love. I am love.

Reflections of myself dissolving into my core essence, is something so incredibly profound. Stripping away layers of illusionary tales my mind creates, I can be purely present without distraction. This is an incredible tool to use and should be used to find true love. Anything external is so temporary but internally you are eternal in this moment. I owe a great deal to Meditation and the art mindfulness, it has enabled me to find my true-self.

Your true-self cannot be found in your partner, husband or wife. In our society we are consistently trying to find the missing piece in another person or thing. This is an ego trick, you already HAVE everything, YOU are it.

It was definitely an incredible experience to say the least. Some incredible things can come to your mind after the float, it is best to capture them!

An insight into life and death the Tibetan way

I have started once again to read copious amounts of things reflecting upon a more eastern based philosophy.

The current book that has grabbed my attention is the Tibetan Book Of Living And Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche.

This book so far has struck a chord with me personally as I can relate to the way we do think about death. Most of us are scared of dying and the more scared we get the more fear and insecurity we build up and instead of facing it directly through meditation we distract ourselves with loud colourful and sense invigorating things.

Some of the standout quotes so far are :

We live under an assumed identity, in a neurotic fairy tale world with no more reality than the Mock Turtle in Alice in Wonderland.

I know what your thinking! How dare he say that!!!

When we die we leave everything behind, especially this body we have cherished so much and relied upon so blindly and tried so hard to keep alive. But our minds are no more dependable than our bodies. Just look at your mind for a few minutes. You will see that it is like a flea, constantly hopping to and fro. You will see that thoughts arise without any reason, without any connection. Swept along by the chaos of every moment, we are the victims of the fickleness of our mind. If this is the only state of consciousness we are familiar with, then to rely on our minds at the moment of death is an absolute gamble.

This really helps you realise that impermanence plays a massive part in our lives and we should take steps to give our minds a shock absorber for when people close to us do pass away.

This book is extremely well written and also has an introduction by The Dalai Lama.
